How to connect Perfect Wiki to ChatGPT.
- 1In ChatGPT settings, turn on Developer mode. It's available on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.
- 2Add a custom MCP connector named Perfect Wiki with the server URL

- 4In a conversation, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and enable Perfect Wiki — then ask away, for example “What’s our travel expense policy?”

Custom MCP connectors need developer mode, which is available on the web for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu. In Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow it. Without developer mode, you can still use the classic Perfect Wiki GPT for read-only answers.
No. ChatGPT connectors only support OAuth sign-in — there is no option for a static token or custom headers. You sign in with your Perfect Wiki account and approve access on the consent screen.
The MCP connector works in your regular ChatGPT conversations, uses OAuth sign-in, and can read, create and update pages. The Perfect Wiki GPT is a separate GPT from the store that answers read-only questions about your knowledge base.
No. Each connector is tied to the single knowledge base you pick on the consent screen, and to the permissions you approve. Add the connector again to work with another knowledge base.
Only if you allow it. When you connect with OAuth you choose read-only (wiki:read) or read & write (wiki:write) on the consent screen. Legacy API tokens always have full access to their knowledge base. Most MCP clients also ask for your confirmation before running a tool that writes.
Yes. Each connection is scoped to one knowledge base, so add the server once per knowledge base and give each a unique name — for example perfect-wiki-hr and perfect-wiki-engineering. The assistant can then search or update a specific knowledge base by name.
The Perfect Wiki MCP server only forwards the requests ChatGPT makes. Tool results — the pages and answers it fetches — are passed to the model as part of the conversation and handled under your AI provider's data policy.
