Your Story 

Use your story to introduce new employees to your company, or as part of your marketing strategy to reach and engage potential clients. 

• How it started—the original idea and the motivating factors that inspired you to start your business  (put a face to the name - introduce your founders!) 
• A challenge you faced along the way (people relate to imperfection—show your audience that you are familiar with difficulties and even failure) 
• How you overcame that challenge (What did you learn? How did you become better as a company as a result?) 
• Name your most important company milestones (the year you reached them and a brief description) 

Your Mission 

Your mission is at the core of your company. It’s why you do what you do, and is best recapped in a short, memorable statement. 

• Introduce your product and give a brief description what it is and what it can do for the customer 

The big “Why?”(your mission statement) — state your reason for selling your product or service, your common company goal, and how you go about reaching this goal as a team
 

Your Vision 

Make your reader a part of the company story. Show them why your goal is something they should care about too, and that they can benefit from choosing you. 

• What do you want your company to look like in the next year? In the long term? 
• How do your unique company values contribute to making your part of the world a better place? 
• How can the reader become part of your vision?

Your values
Company values (also called corporate values or core values) are the set of guiding principles and fundamental beliefs that help a group of people function together as a team and work toward a common business goal. These values are often related to business relationships, customer relationships, and company growth.

Keep your story short and sweet. It should take no longer than 2 minutes to read, and by the end your audience should have a clear idea of how you came to be, what you sell, and why you sell it. 
 

To start, give the reader an idea of what it’s like to be a part of your team. State your team values (e.g. mutual support, open-mindedness) and your common goals. Add a group photo if you have one. 

Introduce the members of your team, starting with your CEO and executive team. 

We recommend grouping your staff by department, so that new members can easily find the person they’re looking for.

Each employee can fill out their own section, and new employees can add their information while they get to know the rest of the team.

• Contact information (work email, daytime phone number, links to relevant social media profiles) 
• Main responsibilities at the company 
• A couple fun facts and personal interests—especially important if you are new to the team and want to know the person behind the title.

This Perfect Wiki tab is where you can outline your most important work policies—house rules you have adopted over time that help the work process run smoothly and enjoyably for everyone. 

Write out the 3-4 policies you believe every new staff member should know like the back of their hand. For example: 

Flow State

At our company, we want employees to have time for focused, distraction-free work. If you see a sign on someone’s door or cubicle that says “Flow State,” they are unavailable for consultation. The same goes for you—if you need to focus on a project, use your “Flow State” sign and enjoy uninterrupted work time to meet your deadlines. 

If you have documents that outline more concrete policies, such as company-wide report deadlines, you can link them in this tab. 

Note: you can add Google Drive links to your Perfect Wiki pages for direct access to all company documents. 

 

Here is where you can list any digital collaboration platforms and software your company uses. 

You can add a brief description of the tool, an installation link for Macs, PCs, and mobile devices, and a link to your company’s domain on the app. For example: 

Microsoft Teams

We use Microsoft Teams to clarify work-related issues and communicate important, bite-sized information within and between departments. 

Each department has their own Microsoft Teams channel (our HR department will email your department link to you), and we also have a General channel for all employees.

A few things to know: 

• We communicate on Microsoft Teams via threads so the General channel doesn’t get clogged.
